Presbyterian Women

 Supporting Each Other - Serving the Community

Fellowship, caring for each other, and Bible study are the major focus of Presbyterian Women.  Every woman who is a member or friend of First Presbyterian Church is a part of Presbyterian Women.  All are welcome!  Our stated purpose is to:
  • Nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study;
  • Support the mission of the church worldwide;
  • Work for justice and peace;
  • Build an inclusive, caring, community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
Presbyterian Women meet in Westminster Hall on the second Wednesdays in March and September for a brief business meeting, luncheon and an informative program.  A Christmas Tea is held in December, and a Summer Tea in June.  Circles also meet in the daytime or evening for study and fellowship. Presbyterian Women offer their time, talents, and money to support various projects, including Children’s Services and many other specially selected causes.  Horizons, an official publication of Presbyterian Women, is the primary resource for programs, information and inspiration.
Activities of Presbyterian women at First Presbyterian Church include the Sew & Sows, the Reader’s Corner Book Club, and the WINGS study and discussion group.
To become an active member of Presbyterian Women, see information in the monthly newsletter, PresbyTimes, or call the church office at (816) 252-6662.
